Below are our customers’ most frequently asked questions. We hope they answer any questions you may have as they usually but if they don’t please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Who are you guys? (in other words...are ya'll legit??)

We’re club collectors, accumulators and treasure hunters and we think we’re pretty legit.

We got in this business finding the best deals on golf clubs for our friends and families. We used to sell all of our clubs on good ol’ eBay but then good ol’ eBay got bad and started charging crazy fees that made our lives difficult, so we started this website to keep our prices as low as possible.

Really we just love golf clubs and enjoy hitting them at our simulator in the Minnesota countryside. Once we’re through gushing over these clubs, we resell them on this site.

What's with the name?

We’re Minnesota boys so summers are either spent golfing or at a lake…and sometimes both. At one particular lake we frequent there sits a big hill with a wide opening down to the water maybe 100ft below. What better way to utilize that hill then to tee it up at the top and hold our very own long drive contest into the lake*. The name of that hill given to it by the patrons at the local watering hole? Moose Hill. 

*No worries – no ducks, geese or loons were harmed. The same can’t be said about Sam’s father’s boat though.

Condition Grading Guide

At Moose Hill Golf Shop, we believe the buyer should be fully aware of the condition of a used product on our website. The value of a golf club is established by its condition. Moosehillgolf.com has developed an easy to understand grading standard so we can avoid misunderstandings and disappointments.

Like New Condition Description

Shows virtually no traces of wear and is nearly impossible to distinguish from new. May show signs of very minor “shop wear”, but in most cases, you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference from new… we just have the luxury of a super-duper magnifying glass!

Awesome Condition Description

Shows some visible signs of limited use, but is in fantastic shape and has been exceptionally well maintained. If you look really close, you may see some minor or faint cosmetic blemishes (e.g., very light scuffing and/or scratching), but overall, the luster of new is still very much alive.

Very Good Condition Description

Shows general wear associated with normal use over the course of a season or more but has been well cared for. Does not retain any of the “new look” but is in better than average condition. There is absolutely no sign of abuse. Cosmetic imperfections are typically visible. Examples include: scuffing, scratching, tiny paint blemishes, shallow dings/nicking, and normal shaft wear.

Bargain Condition Description

Shows frequent to heavy use but does not show any signs of abuse. Cosmetic blemishes are clearly visible and may include: pop-up marks, heavy scuffing and scratching, paint chipping, heavy finish wear, shaft burn and pitting, natural dings/nicking/gouges, etc. If you can get past the cosmetics, there is plenty of life still in this one!…plus, get it for a steal!

 

What methods of payments do you accept?

Our website is backed and secured via Stripe. They acccept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and others. Sorry, no cash, trades or empty promises are accepted at this time..puppies maybe.

What are your shipping rates?

Shipping golf clubs is expensive and can often vary between $5 – $30! (I know, ouch) BUT, to keep things simple we charge a flat $9.99 rate for all orders, large or small. You know what else? We often offer free shipping promotions over a certain $$ amount. Not in the continental US of A? Please contact us immediately and we can work something out.

How long will it take to receive my order?

We strive to deliver your package fast and on time.

  • All orders placed from Monday through Friday before 12 pm EST are typically shipped the same day.
  • Orders placed from Monday through Thursday after 12 pm EST are typically shipped the following day.
  • Orders after 12 pm EST on Friday and all orders Saturday and Sunday typically ship on Monday.

When shipping within the contiguous US, your order will arrive within these delivery estimates based on your location and selected shipping speed.

  • In stock orders are shipped within one business day of payment verification.
  • Standard residential deliveries will be delivered Monday through Saturday.
  • In many areas Saturday delivery may NOT be available.
  • We do not deliver on national holidays or Sundays.
  • All commercial deliveries will be delivered Monday through Friday.
  • All military shipments are shipped via the United States Postal Service Priority mail. In stock orders are shipped within one business day of payment verification.
  • Please allow 2-4 weeks for APO/FPO deliveries.

Manufactured Refurbished Clubs
Typically shipped from Japan via DHL and will arrive within 10 days.

What is your return policy?

We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase – that’s why we’ve made returns so easy!

For exchanges, lost in shipping, or warranty returns, please contact our Customer Service department by email at: support@moosehillgolf.com and we’ll get back to you on how to return your clubs.

To keep our prices as low as they are, you will be required to pay return shipping.

Items returned must be in the same condition in which they were received in order to receive full credit. Items bought in “new” condition and then used, even just once, cannot be returned.

The only exception is for golf clubs. Golf clubs purchased in “New”, “Open Box, Canceled Orders” or “Like New” condition and then used can be returned, but will receive a reduced refund value. The reduced value will be determined after our inspection of the club to determine the level of use. You will be notified of the reduced refund value after inspection.

  1. You may return any item, with the exception of custom or personalized products, for any reason within 30 days of receipt of the product for a complete refund of the product price.
  2. The return shipping and/or pickup costs will be deducted from your merchandise credit or refund, except when the return is due to our error.
  3. Item must not be used nor altered and must include all inserts and accessories, if applicable.
  4. If the item has been used or is not in the same condition as it was sold, a 15% restocking fee may be applied or your return refused.

Refunds will be issued within 5-7 days of receipt and inspection of the items. If you paid for your order with a gift certificate and/or credit card or PayPal combination, the refund will be credited to the gift certificate first and the balance will then be refunded to the credit card or PayPal account.

International Returns

Returns outside the continental US are not eligible for a FedEx shipping label.

  • You are responsible for choosing a non-expedited international delivery service and for paying shipping costs.
  • You will receive a credit for your shipping costs if the return was due to a Moosehillgolf.com error.

Note: If a return is not due to an error, we will not cover your shipping costs.

Do your used clubs come with a headcover and/or tool?

Almost never, so don’t expect it. We have a million random headcovers lying around the shop though and will someday get them up our website but for now please get in touch with us and we can tell you how to add a headcover and maybe a tool to your order.

Why only stock photos for some of your used clubs?

We learned early on in this business that by far the most time consuming part of listing golf clubs was taking pictures and then customers jsut wanted more pictures anyways so we’ve gone the way of many of the other used golf online stores out there and strictly use our condition rating guide because unfortunately, due to the size of our inventory and multiple shipping locations, we are unable to provide actual pictures of the club.

You will notice, however, that we do have some real pictures on our site. This is usually from the golf clubs we used and adored personally. Often they’re taken with our phones and a little grainy, and for that we apologize, but we thought some pictures are better than no pictures in these cases.

Do you re-grip your used clubs?

We may re-grip a shaft on a used club if the grip is determined to be “unplayable.” We guarantee our grips on used clubs will be consistent with or better than the overall club condition. To understand what grips you should and should not expect to see, see our Visual Checklist below.

Unplayable grips that will be replaced are best described as split or torn, cracked or disintegrating, or damaged beyond an acceptable level.

There are no condition rating for grips and 3balls.com does not guarantee grip size. If you have a specific size then you must re-grip your club during the checkout process.

Note: In some cases the word “DEMO” may be stamped or otherwise marked on a club’s grip by the manufacturer. This is true of clubs of all conditions.

How often do you restock your inventory?

Nearly everyday so come back often! We also sell some clubs very quickly so you may order something from us and get the dreaded email that it is sold out (we refund you instantly). Sorry, we don’t like this process one bit but we’re a tiny shop and have to live with it.

How do you acquire your merchandise?

Whenever you buy from Moosehillgolf.com, you’re buying the best golf gear we’ve managed to get our hands on. We have long-term, ongoing relationships with top brands. You can be assured that Moosehillgolf.com only sells authentic, original equipment. Our expert staff inspects every piece to ensure its integrity and authenticity. We clean and carefully assess and assign an accurate Condition Grade before merchandise goes out the door.

We acquire a lot of brand new and used items for everything a golfer needs. Because we buy in such large quantities, we can often pass the major savings on to you. Our golf clubs, accessories, shoes, and apparel comes from several sources:

  • Manufacturers give us club introductions with slight imperfections on closeout items.
  • Programs help us acquire condition-qualified trade-ins at their current fair market trade-in value.
  • Golf shop managers and customer fitters give us their surplus gear for reselling at deeply discounted prices.
